Dieva pirksts

I had an apocalyptic experience today.

It was really warm outside today (+5C) and there was just no way I'd stay indoors. So I took a walk around the block.
During my walk I saw no live being, no dogs were barking, no cars.. No nothing. It felt surreal. At that point the sun wasn't shining yet, it was depressingly cloudy and dark.
There's some road work going on not far from my house so I'd thought I'd go an see how they do. On Saturdays they have work from morning till midday but today they weren't there. No one. Which I thought to be queer because there were cars around and tools scattered around, and some machinery all over the place. And one particular machinery caught my eye - comically parked on top of a sand heap with doors open. I'm pretty sure if I'd have walked up to it I'd find the keys in the ignition.
But I didn't because at this point I was already creeping out. My only thought was "Where the hell is everyone" because even when I continued my walk up to a place which is a popular walking trek.

No living soul what the hell.

Fast forward half an hour, the sun crept through the clouds. If the sun had a face then it would've had a really annoying, smug smile. But putting that aside, the view changed dramatically and when I took the next corner I saw real, moving and alive people! AND cars.

What is this magic I don't yet know.

And another thing I found out today:
People look really, really funny in their cars. Either the car is too big and their face ends up half-hidden behind the wheel or the car is too small and the person ends up being squished in it, elbows up, chin on the wheel.
